SARB Field Development, Zirku Island (U.A.E.) – Early Site Preparation – Geological – Geotechnical Support, Design Study and Monitoring during Construction

The study focused on the detailed assessment of the geological, hydrogeological and engineering geological conditions within the onshore area of the project on Zirku Island, where extensive earthworks were planned, involving the excavation and deposition of several million cubic metres of material.

The scope of the study included a detailed assessment of the geological conditions, including stratigraphy, tectonics and the hydrogeological and engineering geological behaviour of the geological formations, to support the design of the planned earthworks and onshore structures. It also included the identification and evaluation of geologically problematic areas in relation to the proposed structures, supporting the development of appropriate and technically sound design solutions. In addition, the excavatability of the geological formations and the suitability of the excavated materials for reuse were assessed in accordance with the project requirements.
